I have always been an athlete. I love and live sports (I'm an athletic trainer). When I was younger, sports were my way of staying in shape, and BOY did it. When I went away to college and wasn't playing sports anymore it was so difficult for me to stay in shape and I fell victim to what I call the "College 40."
Since graduating from college, I've bounced all over the board with my weight, my mood, and my energy. I've made a million resolutions and not stuck to a single one. I've tried a zillion diets, eating plans, calorie counters, workout routines, and not working out routines. Nothing had stuck or made me enthusiastic about improving my health.
Now, I am 26 and starting to get to a place where I am making changes that are sticking, feeling GREAT about myself and am able to properly motivate others.
And THAT is what I want to use this as. A place where I can share some of my musings, tips I've figured out along the way, and troubles I might be having. I am also a firm believer that MOTIVATION can make or break any goal you might have. Whether its losing weight, changing jobs, or painting your house, finding that motivation deep within yourself is more important than anything else in your journey.
I'd like to share with you all how I have found (and occasionally lost) my motivation, in hopes that I can at least inspire one person to achieve the greatness that I am working towards. So join me on my path to dreaming in fitness.
Katie
